hi,
thank you for providing the brief history of your wife.
A thorough assessment is advised.
Also, as you mentioned she has
chronic diabetes, her age is 64 and last six months on
insulin. As to assist in this, i will advice you to improve the
metabolism and drug absorption by the cells, This can be achieved by performing regular exercises, Also, exercises will help improve the metabolism, immune system, burn calories, etc. Exercises are usually recommended in patients with diabetes to control the blood
glucose sugar levels. Also, by modifying the diet can produce an assistance along with the exercise. Taking the exercise prescription from a physical therapist will be good and helpful to focus on calorie burning exercises without troubling the HR.
Also, in my clinical practice, when i come across the chronic diabetes, we induce the complete assessment initially, and modify the diet as well. Exercises are performed on a regular basis and in 3-4 weeks of time, the sugar levels are under control. I would say a drastic change. I have 99% of success in controlling sugar for patients with - modified diet, exercises and balancing the medical prescription.
