Suggest Treatment For Anxiety During Post Menopause

Hello, I am a 53 year old female with anxiety for past 22 years. My anxiety attacks are getting worse, I have recently had thoracic outlet surgery and am going through beginning of menopause. I am thinking about meds to talk to my doctor about (aside from the lorazepam I take when the attack is coming on). Any suggestions?

Hello my friend
Thanks for your question on HCM

Depression during perimenopause is likely due to fluctuating and declining estrogen levels in part. Steroid hormones, such as estrogen, act in the central nervous system (CNS) by means of various mechanisms.
Go to your doctor and find a solution in:
1.Social group with the same problem
2.Antidepressant therapy
Standard antidepressants are first-line treatments. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are the antidepressants most commonly used in the treatment of perimenopausal depression and anxiety
3.Hormone replacement therapy
For mild depression, hormone replacement therapy alone may be appropriate. Estrogen may be used when traditional antidepressants failed

Hope this my help you
Best regards
