Suggest Treatment For Anxiety Attacks

My son just phoned, he was in store and felt very anxious all of a sudden, rapid heartbeat and dizziness with blurred vision. He was at the hospital two weeks ago and they said it was an anxiety attack.. Should he go to the hospital again or visit a doctor?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for using healthcare magic

I think, he has panic disorder. In that case, he needs antidepressant like paroxetine with low dose benzodiazepine. That would help to control the anxiety symptoms. He should consult a psychiatrist for proper diagnosis and management. He could also try some relaxation exercise like JPMR or deep breathing exercise. In case, you need further help, you can ask.

Thanks
