General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Heavy, prolonged bleeding could be due to hormonal imbalance, contraceptive pills' side effects, polyps, fibroids or due to endometriosis. Take medication containing tanexamic acid (Tablet) to help reduce the menstrual flow. Heavy menstruation is also treated with Norethisterone (5mg). Get a gynecologist consultation, get blood tests, pap tests, endometrial biopsy, ultrasound done to detect the pathology causing you symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
