I have had a uti now for 5days taking cipro but still not feeling better i had a nother urinalays today and it showed nitrates and 250+ blood . I am having severe back pain and just feel bad My Dr sent me over to have a CT to rule out stones and it was negative so now what My Ct was normal except Endometrial Fluid any suggestions
Hi, I want to know - 1) This is only episode of UTI or there is recurrent UTI. 2) Any associated illness like Diabetes. 3) Any menstrual problem.
Also CT scan has ruled out possibility of stone (though some stones may be missed on CT) or any structural abnormalities associated with urinary system.
Nitrates in urine denote UTI. Blood cells (RBCs) in urine may be present due to infection, stone in urinary system, urine sample collected during menstrual period.
I would like to advise you to 1) Complete blood count. 2) Urine culture and sensitivity testing.
Till the culture sensitivity report get available continue tab cipro, once report is available appropriate antibiotic can be started.
