Suggest Safe Medication For Flu During Pregnancy

My daughter is 15 wks pregnant-- she and her husband are living in Switzerland, but here for holiday and has no ob/gyn here in the states. She has had flu symptoms for 3 days. What is the danger to the baby? Anything to do or avoid? (She is taking in fluids, drinking honey/lemon juice for throat and taking acetaminophen when feverish.)

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
I appreciate your concern for your daughter. If she had flu like symptoms with fever, then always consult a physician and go for some blood tests before taking any kind of medicines. Go for CBC and Urine examination. Paracetamol can be taken, but not more than 2 tablets. Rather do salt warm water gargle 4-5 times a day, drink milk with haldi and plenty of fluids should be taken. avoid any kind of exertion and dont go outside.
Generally it will not have any effect on the baby, so be relaxed, but be cautious at the same time. go for CBC and you can come back to me after getting result, i will guide you further.
Hoping that it will help to your daughter.
