Suggest Remedy For Swollen Painful Ear, Muffled Hearing With Eczema In Ears
I have eczema in my ears. I grabbed something Saturday morning (3days ago) and scratched the itch which I've done million of times and know I should not. Shortly after I noticed an ache in my ear, the inside is swollen, painful now to push around the ear, sometimes hear my heartbeat, or sounds like water. Sound is muffled some on that side and I've tried popping it but holding nose and breathing out to no avail.. What can I do to get relief! How can I get the swelling to go down?

As per your query you have itching in your ear along with swollen painful ear and muffled hearing . The symptoms you mention in query occur due to many reasons like ear Canal Dermatitis , which is a kind of allergic reaction or otitis media ( ear infection ) . But it seems to me that in your case the symptoms are due to allergic reaction . I would suggest you to take anti histamine like benadryl and keep your ear dry . Consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may examine ear with otoscope , order certain test like allergy test , CT scan and blood tests to rule out ear infection . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , corticosteroid ear drops and anti inflammatory .
