I am 26yrs old, 81kgs. I am experiencing pain in my trachea from the last 2 months. Mostly I am experiencing it when I woke up and the pain is disappearing in 15 to 20 min. This is happening everyday. I am a smoker and I strongly believe this pain is related to my smoking. I have been smoking from the past 6 and half years and I recently quit smoking a month ago. I even have excess mucus in my throat.
Your symptoms could be related to chronic bronchitis, probably caused by smoking. For this reason, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam, a chest X-ray study and some blood lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR) to check for possible bronchitis or inflammation. You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
