Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
It is very important that patient herself, and those who take care of Diabetes patient should be well aware of the symptoms of Hypoglycemia, and to to give immediate home care. You must have Glucometer, and check her blood sugar level immediately if you suspect Hypoglycemia. The best thing is that we have to avoid hypoglycemia. To do that , it is must that she follows the Dr's direction about the timing of medicines, timing of meals, type of meal, any other associated symptoms, other medications etc. Now a days, there are newer drugs available which can minimize the hypoglycemic episodes. I would suggest, it is better to see her Doctor again for review. To give you better and concrete answer, we have to know her age, all medicines she is taking, timings, dosage, her activity level, Blood pressure readings in both arms, Exact cholesterol level, Cardiac conditions etc. I have tried to explain briefly the general things.
Take care

Hi welcome to HCM
I have gone thru your query.I can understand your concern about your mother.

Dear, one thing you have to keep in mind , perfact health can't be achieved by only gulping on medicines and plls .unless you adopt regular life style and food habits and regular exercise ,walk ,yoga ,pranayam

"The magnitude of the survival advantage from improved nutrition & activity level can even be greater than the magnitude of the treatment effects being targeted in current clinical drug trials ."
, Progress is not just creation of more and more drugs but we should be able to depend on them only at the time of emergency.
In my view We should be able to curb the diseases at their root which is possible by resorting to the drugs created by the nature itself ,which are withourt side effects
. Unfortunately, we are now a days moving away from nature and suffering from inumerous ailments , big or small .
it is best to move to the products endowed by the nature.
Our total heath depends upon What we eat when ,we eat and how we eat ?

A nutritious balanced diet containing all essential nurients -more of fiber ,protein vitamins mineralsin natural form , raw fresh veges , fruit , lot of water

And antioxidants GARLIC: GINGer : ONION : Chew or swallow a few of cloves of raw garlic daily on an empty stomach helps smooth blood flow ,to prevent all , diabetes , lowers cholesterol , fighting cancer paralysis ,stress, fatigue and maintaining the healthy liver function
With all above Onion ginger also help in loss of appetite, upset stomach, gall bladder disorders, whooping cough, bronchitis, asthma, dehydration, intestinal gas, parasitic worms and low or high sugar levels - diabetes. , and help to get rid of excess weight , protects from heart disease and makes the blood flow smooth in the system which balances low and high BP. Give resistance from diseases
Lemon Jiice with water twice ,before meals ,
Turmeic Powder with a cup of hot milk before bed time
CINNAMON: It is effective in regulating blood sugar and high cholesterol which ultimately reduces BP or prevents high BP. Consume only a PINCH will help. It also is anti-clotting , & helps flexibility of arteries . Allow blood to flow smoothly in the system prevents heart attack .

BUT BE CARE FULL ABOUT LOW SUGAR LEVEL . kEEP AN EYE ON IT . CHECK REGULARLY IF FOUND ANY VARIATION , STOP THIS .

BITTER GOURD IS ANOTHER GREAT ANTIOXIDANT & anti biotic ,adds strength to our metabolism and add immunity to our system.
Coconut water also gives srength to our immune system .

Avoid fried, fast foods , tea ,coffee , Alcohol ,mental tention ,anger. Constipation
With all the Above regimen and Proper regular exercise from head to toe , Walk , yoga , pranayam deep breathing & proper rest , sufficient sleep can boost immunity , and strengthening our system ,paving way for perfectly healthy ,disease free , blissful life ahead .
The condition is Regularity
Always talk with your doctor if you are using alternative therapies in addition to medication .
Hope this helps you in solving your query Take care .All the best
