genital herpes my ex boyfriend recently told me that he had genital herpes and he had never told me about it while we were together. ( a person should be able to go to jail for that kind of thing ) I recently got married and we have been using condoms until I could get to see the doctor on the 15 of this month.some of the relationship with my ex we wouldn't use a condom if we didn't have one. We did oral sex also which makes me even more mad. I have recently had pimples come up on the corner of my mouth and I pop them but then they turn to a sore and decide they want to chill for a while on my face. with it being in the corner of my mouth and time I smile etc it cracks and bleeds so its taking longer to heal. I am worried that this could be herpes of the mouth. Then today I noticed all of a sudden my vagina became very tender and when I wipe it hurts. seems to be warm and inflamed, there is a white discharge coming out. I have been using a condom with spermicide in it lately and think I could be allergic to it. maybe even a yeast infection... please help... I have told my husband about this and he is distraught...
First of all, confirm the diagnosis of your problem by having some investigations from your blood for Herpes and from your vaginal discharge for yeast infection under the supervision of a consultant. The typical picture explained by you is nothing but a Herpes infection near the angle of your mouth due to Herpes type 1 infection which is not necessarily transmitted through sexual route. Oral sex and kissing might have produced the infection. This can be treated with specific anti-viral microbicides. Yeast can be treated with intra-vaginal pessaries and oral anti-fungal antibiotics for 3-4 weeks. Sexual abstinence is important during treatment.Partner has to examined and treated if necessary. Prolonged use of antibiotics, steroids, oral contraceptives are to be avoided. Diabetes, if any, to be controlled tightly to avoid a relapse. Dr S.Murugan
