Suggest Remedy For Fever And Pain In Arm After Pneumonia Shot

My grandson is 7 years old. This passed Monday he got the flu shot and the one to prevent pneumonia at the same time. Since then he is running fever every 2-3 hours even after he is taking fever and pain reducer. His arm is in pain and he cant move it having glue it next to his little body. The doctor s nurse who gave him the shots told me to give him massages on the area beginning from the elbow up and to press down hard on the site of the injection, and to make him exercise his arm. Well he can t move the arm and its extremely painful. I called the nurse again and she told me to give him Tylenol and after 3 hours children advil. Still the child cant move his arm and is bending to the side of his hurting arm. His fever runs from 101.6 to 100 and then 103.2 going back and forth. Should he be taken to a doctor. His doctor is never at the office. Only a PA, or nurse. What can I do? His mother only sees him Saturday and Sunday at night and he stays with the great grandmother while his mom is not home. His father, my son has him during the week and I help him by picking my grandson from school till his daddy comes and take him home. Should my song take him to the emergency room tonigh?

Hi
Thanks for writing to healthcaremagic.
Pain and fever is common after vaccination.
Dont worry.
Continue tylenol and apply ice to keep pain less.
It might last for 3 days.
If no improvement , take him to ER/doctor
Wishing speedy recovery
Regards
Dr Arun
