Suggest Remedy For Bruises & Swelling In Hip

Recently I went rock climbing with my daughter. As I was coming down from the top of the wall she dropped the rope and I fell to the ground. I hit my head on the wall and landed on my him. I had a large bruies on my hip and severe swelling. The bruise is almost gone and the swelling has somewhat but it is still hot to the touch and a firm swelling. I can feel smaller knots in under the firming swelling as well. I have a history of blood clots in my lungs. I am 35, 180 lbs and female.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be minor contusion or hematoma. Fracture or major ligament or tendon injury is very very unlikely. You can apply icepacks for faster recovery. In most cases it will settle by itself.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
