Suggest Remedy For A Red Bump At The End Of A Surgical Scar

hi, last year i had surgery on my neck which left a lateral scar which has since healed. i am currently traveling in turkey and out in the sun everyday, and at the end of the scar line a red bump has grown. it looks like a pimple/bug bite and is sensitive when i touch it. what could this be? should i be worried?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

1. There is nothing to be worried.
2. It may be a hypertrophic scar or a keloid.
3. Plan for cryotherapy for dissolving the scar, until then you can try vaniza HC gel, apply twice daily on the affected area.
4. Don't manipulate the scar or don't pick, it may increase the size of the scar.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sandeep Golla
