Suggest Remedies For Black Mark Caused By Dettol Burn

hi, i actually had a nose bump due to piercing and read in a site to use dettol to reduce it. but iknstead of diluting it, i applied it directly to my nose and have a brown/black burn like mark on my nose. how do i get rid of it as i work in a reception and will have to face people and this mark is making me feel very much conscious.

Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

It is a classical example of irritant contact dermatitis and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

If I was the treating doctor I would have asked you to use a moderately potent topical steroid e.g fluticasone propionate cream, twice daily for a few days. That should make it fine within a week or so.
