Suggest Proper Method Of Using Birth Control Pills
hi doctor,
I m 26 years,5'7" height and 73 kg.
I was diagonised with PCOS problem.So gynac asked me to take KRIMSON-35 tablets for 9 months.I have taken it for 6 months regularly and my periods were perfectly on time.However I left India and now in US and there wos a miscalculation of months and hence Im short of medicines now.What should i do now?
1.Should I take or can I take 1 month gap an then start of medicines again as prescribed?(will there be any kind of hormonal imbalance if i do that?)
2.Can i become pregnant if istop it and have umprotected sex?

You can start the pills anytime you get them. You can also take a break of a month - but you must consider yourself at risk of pregnancy during that time.
If you start a pill pack at a time other than your period, which you certainly can, you will need to use a back up method of pregnancy prevention, like a condom, if you have sex within 7 days.
Women often like to start on a Sunday, because theoretically that means most of your bleeding will not be on the weekend each month. But this is for convenience, not to make the pills work.
So, if you're going to have sex soon, you should start your pills as soon as you get them, no matter what day it is. And if it is more than 5 days past your bleeding period, then use a condom for 5-7 days.
