General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concern.
It is not safe to self-medicate to induce an abortion as it can lead to severe vaginal bleeding, incomplete abortion, infection, infertility in the future and also carries the risk of trying to abort an ectopic pregnancy with grave consequences.
She should consult a gynecologist.
First of all the duration & location of pregnancy should be confirmed by an ultrasound scan. Pregnancy should be less than 7 weeks & the location of gestational sac (pregnancy) should be in the uterus (womb).
It can be dangerous if she takes the medicine to abort in case of ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy in the tube).

Then the doctor will prescribe her a kit for abortion.

The kit contains two tablets
One big tablet Mifepristone - it is to be taken orally first, then after 24 hours remaining 4 tablets of Misoprostol are to be taken orally at once.
Bleeding (abortion) occurs within 6 hours to 5 days.

After the bleeding stops, it is obligatory to confirm complete abortion by consulting a gynecologist.

Hope this answers your query.
