Suggest Medication For Severe Infection Of The Urinary Tract

I have a GFR OF 49, I have a history of high blood pressure, and chronic urinary track infection, swollen and painfull legs below tne knees, was told by my kidney doctor that the swollen and painful legs had nothing to do with my kidneys and that my GFR 49 at this point was nothing to worry about due to the fact that they are keeping my blood pressure under control.however the doctor did say it is possible for the number to change but at this point it s been stable for 8 months in a field there s no reason to be concerned at this time.I asked if I should go on a special diet or what else I could do to prevent this number from changing and they said at this point I m doing everything I can do by keeping my blood pressure under control is there any other thing else I can do to help my situation.like anyone else in this situation I definitely don t want to have to go on dialysis if I can prevent it.I am also seeing a re up a urologist at this time as well and I ve hadbbeen scope for any issues that might be going on in my bladder.happy to say the results were negative however I am still having issues with tingling and burning sensations I ve been having issues with tingling burning sensation since 1978I m in off to do my life and they been treating me with different medications.medications have helped take away the symptoms for quite a while and then after so many months or years it happens again.for the urinary infection I have been get been given these medications over the year, doxycycline, tetracycline, ciprofloxacin, fluconconazole, and others. How ever the fluconazole seem to work the best.to control my blood pressure I take 50 milligrams of coreg a day,in a hundred 60 milligrams of valsartin a day., and for my swollen legs they have me take cyclobenzaprine at bed time what s helps a little bit but I still have a lot of pain is there any other suggestions that you may have to help me with my situations and anything else I can do to prevent any more complications with my issues? thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As the other medications are going on for cardiac issue, I recommend urine culture report and further guidelines of medications as per the report only.

Many medications do alter P 450 enzyme pathway of liver and hence can disturb the current medications level without knowing and so off the counter medications to cure UTI is best to be avoided.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
