Suggest Medication For Prolonged Dry Cough With Mild Fever

I have been experiencing a cough since last Sunday. It s constant and dry. I feel like my lungs are on fire and I m running a temp of 102.2 for the past 12 hrs. I have been taking robitussin PE multi-sx cough cold about every 4-5 hrs. My last dose was at 5pm tonight. I took my blood pressure on both arms and on the right it was 134/100 and the left was 128/98. Is this because of the cough syrup?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If it's more than week then it's better to do sputum examination and BP is normal. You also need tab Tylenol (for fever) and blood tests CBC, ESR, PBF so that proper antibiotics can be prescribed. Consult a local physician.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sunny Madar, General & Family Physician
