Suggest Medication For Irregular Periods In A 39-year-old Woman
Hi, I am 39 years old experiencing irregular periods since 2 months. My doctor suggested 10 tablets on Primolut N and my last tablet was on Monday morning. I still haven t got periods. What could be the reason. My pregnancy test is negative and I have no signs of menopause. please assist. Thanks in advance
The treating doctor has rightly suggested you tablet Primolut N. Withdrawal bleeding occurs three to ten days after finishing the tablets. So I will suggest you wait for three to five days for the onset of menses.
Please get an ultrasound done to rule out polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) as a cause of your irregular periods. If an ultrasound shows polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), it is a lifestyle disorder and can be controlled by healthy changes in lifestyle. Please opt for a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen. Include more portions of fruits and vegetables and salads in daily diet. Avoid refined sugars and deep-fried foods and bakery products in the diet.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Purushottam Neurgaonkar
