Hi
Very strict and early sugar management in diabetic will help in progression of the
diabetes and prevention or delay of development of diabetes related complications like
kidney disease, eye disease , heart problems etc.
Glycemic control is achieved with dietary modifications and drugs (including anti diabetic drugs and
insulin)
This glycemic control is monitored by fasting and 2hr after breakfast and HbA1C monitoring.
In type 2 diabetes, initially if
glucose not controlled with medical nutritional therapy, a single drug ( usually
metformin) is started. If not achieved goal, as in your case a second drug to be added and step by step other drugs depending on sugar level and sometimes insulin may become mandatory.
So consult a doctor for opinion regarding next step of therapy
Meanwhile you check and modify your dietary habits if possible
Thank you...
