Suggest Medication For Fluid Discharge With Foul Odour And Blood From Belly Button

hello doc.. I am 28. I used to get some stinky fluid or sometimes blood stains in my belly button. I don't have any body piercing. Blood comes when I travel a lot on a day. I consulted a doctor and advised as umbilical infection. For last few weeks the discharge of fluid stopped, but again started.
Does this really due to infection? How this can be stopped/prevented further? Plz help....................

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a bacterial infection.

I would recommend using a bacterial soap to wash and dry frequently the area.

I would also recommend taking antibiotics such as Augmentin to treat the infection.

Avoid tight clothes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
