hello doctor.
My niece is 4 years old and has been diagnosed with enlarged adenoids. She is frequently affected with cold and has breathing trouble at times for which nebulizer is used. Can you kindly guide me with has to be done further to reduce the suffering she is undergoing.

I have read the query and understand your concern.Adenoids are lymphatic tissue which play a part in the immunity particularly during 1st year of life,after the age of 6-7 years their size goes on decreasing.
If your niece is frequently affected with cold and has breathing trouble I would suggest you to get her adenoids removed (adenoidectomy) from an ENT specialist which will remove the block in respiration.Don't worry, it is a simple procedure requiring 30min-1hr. for surgery before which she will be sedated.So,consult an ENT specialist immediately to control present infection if any which is essential before carrying out the surgery.
