I have had a dry cough for over a year now, come and goes at times it's better other times worse. It started while I had a bad flue last January and while the flu passes the cough still lingers. Occasionally I have blood in my spit and also got a taste of blood in my mouth while sitting down. Taking antiacid meds for 4 months not much change, had pulmonary tests all clear and had a low res ct abot 8 months ago all clear, iam scared I have lung cancer??

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hi. I can understand your concern.
You will need a chest x ray and a detailed physical examination, consult a pulmonologist for the same.Possibility of bronchitis is more in your case.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
PFT is needed for the diagnosis of bronchitis.
It will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
You may need inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS)
Don't worry, you will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
