Suggest Medication For Cough, congestion And Lump On Roof Of Mouth
I have had a severe cold with chest and sinus congestion... Coughing with a huge amount of phlegm and I now have pink eye as a result. My throat is still very sore and I have a weird hard pink lump of the rook of my mouth. The lump hurts to the touch... I m thinking its a swollen gland since I have been so sick? I never get cold sores etc and very rarely canker sores... Both of which this isn t. I am just worried about what it could be....
Firstly don't worry, it is infection in mouth and throat, you will be fine in few days of treatment. Your doubt is true, lump is inflamed gland (lymph node) only.
I treat my patients in following way 1 blood work up 2 sputum culture and sensitivity for antibiotics 3 chest x ray and face x ray for sinuses 4 antibiotic(argumentin 625 mg three times a day for three days) 5 pain killers (ibuprofen 600mg two times a day) 6 decongestants (cetrizine and xylometazoline) 7 expectorant syrup (bromhexine 10 ml two times a day) 8 steam therapy
Since these are prescription medicines, I would request you to visit your doctor and explain him/ her. Avoid driving as cetrizine may cause some dizziness.
I hope my reply will benefit you. Please write for subsequent questions. I wish you good health. Kindly rate this reply.
