Suggest Me A Remedy For Blocked Nose

Female aged 30 years. I am suffering from sinus blocked nose and frequent headache . I will suffer from Blocked nose only during cold seasons and will not have much problem in summers.I have found an method also to remove the mucus by applying pressure on the nose. But now I am feeling bit difficult to breathe. One nostril is free only the other one is blocked. I don t want to undergo any operations. And I am not under any medication. I only take steam to get relief from this. Can u please suggest me remedy for blocked nose.....? Waiting for your response

In cold seasons, the air is dry and less humid. Hence you should continue steam inhalation. Steam will also help to liquefy mucus, however if the mucus is excessive, you may take a mucolytic like n-acetylcytine, bromhexine or ambroxol. Anti-histamines may help reduce the mucus but may also cause the delicate nasal mucosa (lining) to dry. Is one nostril perpetually blocked or are they alternately blocked? Have you had any investigations done earlier?

Hello.Welcome to HCM forum.Along with steam inhalation you can take oral antiallergics and put nasal decongestant drops to open your blocked nose.Drink hot water in winter to keep your mucus thin. Thanks and good luck.
