Suggest Home Remedy To Remove Ear Wax Build Up

I believe that I have ear wax buildup in my ear that has closed the canal. This happened from using a quetip to clean my ears after swimming. I have been doing home treatment (using hydrogen peroxide / water mix for a few days, then debrox for 4 days) and it has worked a little bit, opened up and was able to hear again pretty clearly for a day or two, but then it closed again and opens up about 10% of the day. I don t have the money to go see a doctor and feel this is minor and can be fixed. No pain, no symptoms of infection or problems, just lack of hearing and tinnitus (which goes away when it opens up). So my question is if there is anything else I can try or has it been so long I should absolutely see a doctor?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

you are having impacted wax in the ear. For that you have already been used debrox and still there is a no improvement. For impacted wax removal syringing like procedure can be done. With the use of special instrument also wax can be removed. So impacted wax removal is an outpatient procedure and you should consult otorhinolaryngologist for wax removal.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
