General & Family Physician 's  Response
welcome to hcm,
it is fine to hear from you that you have reduced your sugar levels with exercise medications and food control
PIOGLIT MF contains pioglitasone and metformin
pioglitasone on long term use have many side effects also
if i were your treating physician i would advice you to have metformin alone tablets twice daily with your regular exercises and diet control
i want you to repeat the blood sugar levels after a week to asses the tablets efficacy.
i would also like to check your HBA1c result (3 months average blood sugar levels assesment) every year.
hope this explains
feel free to have any followup queries
with regards
Dr.Amarnath
