Hi & Welcome to HCM.
Incomplete data like purpose of taking Prozac???
I can understand your concern regarding the safety & effectiveness of the prescribed medications.
Prozac (Fluoxetine) is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) antidepressant commonly used to treat
major depressive disorder,
bulimia nervosa,
obsessive-compulsive disorder, and panic disorder.
Klonopin (Clonazepam) is a
benzodiazepine basically prescribed for the treatment of epilepsy ("seizure medicine") but also found to be useful in the treatment of panic disorder.
Using Klonopin together with Prozac may increase side effects such as excessive drowsiness, confusion, impaired concentration and thinking, & motor
incoordination which can be harmful in persons with activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machines.
Hence, they should not be taken together.
Had I been your treating physician I would have advised Prozac to be taken in once daily in the morning only. Now, since Klonopin can cause drowsiness (sedation) hence should be taken once daily in the evening only.
Hope this clears your doubts.
