Weight rebound is a common feature when people revert back to their normal routine after losing weight through weight loss program. These weight loss programs do not really help in the long run. So don't look for quick weight loss strategies as you will not be able to sustain weight loss after you give up such programs. No diet pills, powders or weight loss capsules will help you maintain weight. You must focus on changing your eating habits and lifestyle in order to stay fit and healthy. When you start eating healthy foods and limit fatty and junk foods, alongwith being physically active, you will not only feel better but also gradually lose weight. Do not try to lose too much too quickly as you will only end up putting on more weight with other health problems. Focus on being healthy, not thin and incorporate healthy lifestyle practices like brisk walking, climbing stairs etc. to burn calories. Include fresh fruits and salads in your diet and cut down on fat intake by avoiding oily and fried foods, butter, ghee, junk foods and rich desserts like cakes, sweets etc. Avoid soft drinks and juices instead have coconut water, buttermilk, low fat milk, lemon water etc. If you are planning to join gym, make sure you continue gymming because if you give up going to gym, your weight will increase again! So think carefully before taking up any exercise programme. Going for a regular brisk walk for 30-60 minutes a day does not cause any harm but when you take up moderate to intense exercise, giving up may cause weight gain or muscles formed as a result of exercising may get converted back to fat. So start slowly and build up gradually. It requires alot of patience and perseverance to lose weight! Sometimes weight loss may not be significantly visible but do not despair, as fat mass gets converted to muscle mass in some individuals. Being healthy is more important than being slim! Shift your focus from shedding kilos to leading an active life. You will definitely feel more positive and energetic when you learn to embrace your body irrespective of its shape.
