Suggest Complications With High Bilirubin Levels

my wife had a bilirubin count of 2.8 3 weeks back but her SGOT and SGPT were elevated at 156 and 123 respectively. At present her SGOT has come down to 101 and her SGPT to 50 but her bilirubin count after taking medicines for 3 weeks is 10.2. Doctor says that it will start coming down slowly in maybe 2 weeks since SGOT and SGPT levels are reacting to the medicines. Is there any cause for concern for such high bilirubin levels.
thanks

Hello welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

You are having jaundice and cause for it should be ruled out. Viral hepatitis, alcoholic liver disease etc can be possibility and attach reports to comment on that. Take low fat diet. Sugar cane juice and apple juice can be taken more. Take rest for few days. Close monitoring needed for bilirubin value.
I suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for examination.

Hope I have answered your question.
