Suggest Cause & Medications For Blood In Urine With Abdominal Pain

My 40 year old son just told me he had blood in his urine last May and never went back to his Physician. Now he has been having abdominal or stomach pain for 3 weeks. He went to his Dr on Fri and he is to have a Colonoscopy soon. He also had blood work done on Fri. This could be very serious. I sell Cancer insurance so I am really concerned. What do you think?

Urologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, i must assure you, blood in urine is not normal.
The cause for the bleeding must be found out.
The abdominal pains for 3 weeks, needs an ultrasound scan of abdomen. Only if needed, colonoscopy is done,if stool examination shows blood.
You may send the scan and blood reports to me,as a direct question, for an expert opinion.
