Suffering From Sleeping Disorder, Anxiety Disorder. Taking Alprazolam, No Improvement. Advice?
My father is facing sleep disorders since 10 years now. He was having Alprazolam at night everyday for 10 years. Now he doesn't sleep atall even if he has medicine. He has got anxiety disorders also and thinks everything to be negative. He his having Stalopum plus for the last 10 days now. But he still says he doesnot have sleep. Please advise
hi thank you for the query sir I have gone through your query ..after going through that I want to enlighten you regarding insomnia which is a sleep disorder commonly encountered at any age particularly elderly....insomnia is both a sign and a symptom attribute to medical psychiatric and sleep disorders ..it can be associated with a co morbidity or can present it self as primary insomnia...common causes and illness which can present... stress generalised anxiety disorder depression hyperthyroidism drug with drawls poor sleep hygiene organic brain lesions so I advise you to have a complete neuro pyschtric check up and follow the medication as prescribed by your doctor hope I have answered your query to some extent would welcome follow up queries thank you regards DR Alekhya
