Suffering From Headaches For Months. Can Herniated Disc In Spine Cause Headaches?

Hi, I am suffering from headaches for the last 4 months, in the back of the head and temples, at times also in the eyes. I have a history of low back surgery in 1991 and also developed some hernias in the intervertebral disks in the upper back. In the last 4-5 months I also had multiple periods of depression, never longer than 4 days, when I feel alien to my family and life loses any color or sense, also getting very sensitive to loud sounds, avoid talking and stay away from people and sources of noise. I am wondering if the herniated disks in my spine can cause increased intracranial pressure, which in tern causes the headache/depression combination. I am 53, and never had similar problem, not prior to my surgery and not after it.

Hi Dear
Welcome to the HCM
Please consider the cervical spondylitis one of the important cause.
Muscle relaxant medicine and physiotherapy should releive your symptoms.
Ct scan Head to rule out any growth .
Psychiatric consultation should also be considered for such depressive episodes.
Hope the query is answered.
Thanks
