Suffer From Hives. Have Diabetes, Hypertension. On Medication After Having Stroke. Medication Side Effect?
My husband is taking multiple medications which he was prescribed after having a stroke and learning that he has type 2 diabetes and hypertension. He has been breaking out with hives almost every two weeks at which time I would give him an over the counter antihistime and he would clear up in a day or two. His physician has now perscribed him cetirizine hcl mg daily. After two days he isnt showing any relieve from the hives. As he is taking 15 different medications how do i determine if he is actually having a reaction to one of his meds?
Since he is on so many different medications , it is definitely possible that he is allergic to one of his medications.
There are allergy tests that can actually be done for some medications. You can consider speaking to his doctor to determine whether the lab does any drug allergy testing.
I hope this helps
