Sudden Swelling In Fingers Turning Purple, Followed By Nasty Bruise. No Pain. On Regular Use Of Advil. Suggest

I'm a healthy 41 year old female that has been experiencing spontaneous swelling in a small portion of my fingers (normally between the 1st and second joint). It feels like a grape under the skin and turns purple. The swelling lasts about 2-3 hours and goes away on it's own leaving behind a nasty bruise. It isn't following an injury- it just appears and it isn't painful. Could someone let me know what it might be? (I do use Advil regularly.)

Hi, they appear to be begening of the nodules of the rheumatoid arthritis, you may need to have blood tests like rheumatoid factor, ESR, etc.
So i advise you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for diagnosis, and treatment. You may need to take neurotropic injections periodically besides other medicines.
Thank you.
