Sudden, Continued Flashing Lights In Left Eye, Round Black Loop Floating Towards Center. History Of Borderline Diabetes. Suggestions?
Hello and thanks, today at 1:13 pm I started having flashing lights in my left eye. Sort of like an arc when I turn my head, but very bright and outlined in black. Then I began to have a round black loop floating from my left side of my eye towards the center. It is not a solid black dot but rather like a circle. it has continued all day and is now almost midnight. I am 61 yrs old white male about 5"11 and 215 lbs. Pretty good shape and very physically active and do massage therapy as my career. I am borderline diabetic and am working on a better eating plan though it has been off all week, very stressful changes going on. No headaches but when I was in the shower I started having like a black cloud under and in front of my vision , but since has stopped. Any suggestions. Tom
hello, sir this symptoms suggests 90% chance of retinal detachment(RD),you need to consult retinal surgeon as early as possible,if it is RD,then the visual prognosis is poor, earlier the surgery better are chances of recovery,in case its not an RD,it might be just vitreous hemorrhage, then nothing much to worry.
thank you
