Strong Pulse Throughout The Body Usually In Waves. History Of Quitting Smoking, ECG Normal. Fatigue?

Hi, I have been feeling my pulse throughout my whole body, my ears, neck , finger tips and even toes. This happens usually at night, but occasionally comes in waves when I am at work. My pulse feels strong, not fast, like my heart is struggling to beat. I am 37....just quit smoking ( 2 months now) and have no thyroid (medicated and under control). Is this possibly just fatigue?? Had an ECG last year and was normal. Have family history of heart problems.
Thanks

Hello dear,

As you have mentioned in your post that you are taking medication for thyroid & the status is under control, the role of thyroid imbalance can be ruled out.
If needed, a fresh ECG can be done to rule out any Cardiovascular involvement.

Under such circumstances, the symptoms can be attributed to:
1. Chronic fatigue syndrome
2. Dietary deficiency of certain nutrients like Iron, Vit B6, Vit B12, Folic acid, etc. which help in blood formation and nerve conduction.
3. Systemic causes like diabetes or hypertension

So, kindly consult your Physician & get a proper clinical examination done.
Investigations like complete blood count, estimation of blood pressure & blood sugar levels will be helpful to rule out any pathological cause for the symptoms.

There is no need to worry, you will be fine.
Take care.
