What Causes Metallic Taste In Mouth?

quitting smoking. I quit smoking 12 days ago and have had a metallic taste in my mouth for a week. Is this from quitting smoking? If so, why? If not, what else might it be?
Female, Age 31, Height 5ft4inch, weight 11 stone. No medical history, healthy, overweight but dieting and exercising, have lost 16kg since Sept last year
