Stitches On The Hand. Skin Looking White. Doctor Told New Skin Would Grow. Using Antibiotics. Is This Normal?

I have stitches on my hand from a metal bar cutting me, now I have raised skin underneath the stitches. The skin that is stitched looks really white kind of like dead skin on a scab; they told me that, that skin would most likely fall off, and new skin would grow, but im getting worried because some of my stitches have falling out or ripped out and also theres skin or what i think is skin growing under the dead looking skin im not quite sure what to do, i called a doctor and they wouldnt help me much and told me to go in but i dont want to go in unless its absolutely nessasary. I am on anti boitics and ive been cleaning the wound i just want to know if its normal or not. Please if you could help me that would be great! thank you so much.

Thanks for using HCM!

Well, from your description, it seems to be normal, because during wound healing fibrosis occurs causing white, slightly raised skin underneath.
It will take some time to come back to normal.
You should show it to your doctor, for if there are any signs of infection like raised local temperature, pus discharge, redness etc.

You should do blood sugar level if your diabetes status is unknown.
Good control of blood sugar level is necessary for better wound healing.
Also you haven't mentioned your age.
Don't put the part concerned on excessive stress.
Do regular dressing & take your medicines regularly.
Don't forget to get the stitches removed by your doctor on time.

Wish you a speedy healing.
With warm regards.
Thanks!
