Spotting After Sex, Repeats Often, Not Period. What It Could Be?

Last week after I peed And wiped I noticed tiny speckles of blood on the toilet paper. Two or three days ago I had a little blood come out so I thought I was starting my period but after I changed my tampon a few hours later there was no more blood so last night during sex I started bleeding quite a bit. I showered and put a tampon in but this morning there was nothing on the tampon but I put another one in just in case few hours later a light spot of blood on it but on the next tampon when I changed it it was clean. I know of at least two or three times this year that after sex when I wiped with toilet paper there was blood but nothing after that. Help

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

Minor bleeds from the vaginal especially after sex are not uncommon. However, repeated bleeds from the vaginal after sex and even without sex should prompt a consultation. The most important thing would be to examine tha vaginal and cervix to look for all possoible causes and treat them if found. In most cases, there is no cause and clients are simply reasurred.

Please, consult with your OBGYN at your convenience. There is no urgency just yet.

I hope this helps. I wish you well.
