Skin Colored Bump On Upper Lip, Raised, Increasing In Size. What Could Be This?
I have this skin colored bump on my upper lip. It's is slightly raised and it will not/doesn't pop like a pimple. I don't think it's herpes because I am a virgin and have never even kissed anyone but my family. It seems to be getting a tiny but bigger over the past few weeks and it isn't painful, but is bothering me a lot(just knowing it is there). What could this be?
Hi! Thank you for your question! Oral herpes lesions, which begin as reddish areas that swell into raised bumps (papules) become vesicles (fluid-filled) and then collapse into ulcers. This process takes 1-3 days until they begin to heal. Based on your description, the bump doesn't seem like herpes but it is really very difficult to diagnose without seeing or examining the lesion in detail. I would suggest that you see a dermatologist so that he/she can correctly diagnose the bump. Take care and don't hesitate to ask me any question!
