Should We See The Doctor If Baby Is Having High Fever And Temporary Relief From Meftal-P?

My son is 16 months old. He is getting high fever from last 2 days. His Pediatrician Doctor said its a normal viral fever and prescribed a Meftal - P tablet. After taking a tablet fever comes down but again shoots up after 6-7 hours. Same behavior happening after every 6-8 hours. He don t have cough, cold or anything else. We though at least after 2 days, he will be normal, but fever is again coming up. How long we can continue the Meftal - P dosage? Should we again see the doctor? Please help.

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello. Thank you for your question. I am sorry your son is not feeling well. The most common pediatric diagnosis is viral illness, as your pediatrician stated. My personal preference is I like to examine the children if the fever lasts more than 48 hours. Even though it is still most likely viral, I believe it's worth a check. At the very least, I recommend calling your pediatrician and getting his opinion.
