Should Icing Be Done To Area Of Foot With Greatest Swelling?

I was recently hit on my lower leg with a softball. My entire lower leg is swollen and purple and my foot is huge. I have been taking Tylenol, icing, and elevating. While icing, do I need to ice the spot where I was hit or my foot which has the most swelling? Also, I have tolerable pain all the time, but extremely sharp pains that shoot up my leg when I make certain movements......like squatting. Is it possible to have a small fracture? I can put all weight on that one leg with no extra pain.

Hi,
From history it seems that you might be having big hematoma producing swelling in entire leg.
Continue applying ice pack on swelled area 2-3 times a day for few days.
Give rest to the part.
Take anti-inflammatory medicines for 3-5 days.
Go for one antibiotic medicine course if required.
Ok and take care.
