Should I Take 'rozavel' If My Triglyceride Levels Are In Control?
Hi I am 29 years old male. 2 weeks back I had a lipid profile test which results my triglyceride level so high (816 mg/dL). I consult to a cardiologist and he prescribed me 2 medicine ie TGR 160 mg and Rozavel 10 mg to be taken a tablet per day after dinner. I had echo fasting blood sugar and other all necessary test that doctor suggested and all the report were normal. After two weeks I again had a lipid test which results my triglyceride to 210 rest being normal. As doctor said I have to be in medication for life long and he have called me for fallow up check up after 6 months. I am wondering do I need to take those medicine life long after being my triglyceride in control. Suggestion please
Dear Sir, Actually medications for cholesterol should be taken lifelong. Now your triglycerides are normal due to your medication if you simply stop the medication your triglycerides level will increase. From the other hand you are quite young for lifelong cholestrol lowering medications. You can discuss with your doctor, maybe you can decrease the dosage of your medication and try to do healthy lifestyle, to lose weight if you are overweight, to exercise much etc.
