Hi. 2 days ago i sprained my ankle. I went to the hospital had xrays taken and they said its not broken just badly sprained. There was no swelling or bruising. There was/is pain radiating up the outside of my leg upon flexion of my toes..but today i noticed im having numbness and tingling in my toes and foot along with pain. Should i be concerned? Hello,
Thanks for your query.
Although these categories should be investigated and ruled out by your doctor. Therefore local trauma is most likely. Anything that impinges or damages a nerve could be responsible, ankle sprain. The strange thing about nerves is once damaged, healing may never be complete. So some people have a chronic symptom similar to yours after a crush injury that otherwise heals completely.
You should visit an orthopaedic surgeon.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
