Should I Be Concerned About Cat Bite?

We had a small fire in our apartment building last night. The alarm frightened my cat, and when I tried to carry him out, he bit me. I'm not worried about infection, as I was already on amoxicillin, but he got me right in the joint of my thumb. Now, it'r slightly swollen, red, and very painful. It even hurts to touch it at the base. I'm a diabetic as well. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
You may require, tetanus toxoid and anti-rabbic shots as soon as possible.
Continue with Amoxicilin full dose to prevent infection as you are a diabetic.
Clean the wound with antiseptic lotion and dress with antibiotic cream.
Ok and take care.
