Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello
Welcome here.

Depression is a clinical diagnosis. It is made based on the symptoms narrated by patient and evaluated by doctor.

If youdo not feel that you have depression, then I do not think there is any need of antidepressant.

Antidepressants can cause weight gain which is itself a comorbidity in diabetes.

If you are feeling better after stopping the drug, there is no need to restart it.

But kindly let your doctor know this.

Thanks.

Psychologist Dr. K. V. Anand's  Response
Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. You must be able to understand the difference between depression and disappointment. Disappointment also shows some symptoms which are identical to depression. But disappointment will be for a short time. In our life, we have many disappointing situations, and each could trigger depression symptoms for a short period of time. You should not worry with those symptoms. You don't have to continue the medicines. Instead be aware you are depressive and change your life style accordingly. Psychotherapy and meditation along with physical exercise can have a positive effect on management. Please consult a psychologist.

If you still need my assistance in this regard, please use this link. http://goo.gl/aYW2pR. Please remember to describe the whole problem with full detail.

Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications.
Good luck.
