Should I Take Medications The Next Day If Taken Twice The Previous Day?

I take medications for high blood pressure and for congestive heart symptoms. Yesterday, evening, I took them twice--2 hours apart--by mistake because I could not remember having taken them the first time. Should I take my morning dose today? My email is YYYY@YYYY My meds are: Metoprolol Tart 100 mg; Bumetanide 2mg; and Amiloride HCL 5 mg. I take them all 2x a day with food. Thank you.

Hi,

Medications, including these, go out of the body proportionally. So, if you have more of them in, more goes out. You wind up close to the same place the next day. Furthermore, the highest dose and the most likely to cause problems (of low blood pressure and fainting) is 1 to 2 hrs after the second dose and you won't reach that high a dose if you just take the next doses at their regular time.
Skipping a dose will likely mean nothing is in your body at some point later on and that's riskier.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
