Should I Take Duphaston For Irregular Period In Order To Conceive?

Hi Dr Samuel

This is related to pregnancy - Last couple of months we are trying to get pregnant but unfortunately it did not happen. so i went to consult a doctor on august..done all the test and it was normal. Also they injected HCG 5000. but the periods went as it is . on the next months Sep period got delayed around one week and its few drops only...as per doctor we checked HCG count and the doctor confirmed that she is not pregnent...and they given Duphaston 10 mg ....we totally confused ...
so could u please why its is happening and any side effects of HCG 5000 and Duphaston.

Hello sir and welcome.

Both hCG and duphaston will help to regularize her periods and make her more fertile. Although I would have recommend duphaston first to help regularize her periods and not hCG injections. These are not side effects of these medications, but are most probably due to some diagnosed condition your wife has (e.g. thyroid abnormalities, polycystic ovaries, etc.). Please do as your doctor recommends.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
