Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have been taking sertraline 100mg tabs for a long time. started having more problems with depression. my dr. gave me a prescription for escitalopram..5 mg.. i tab a day. have been taking this for over a month. when i called for a refill, my pharmicist said to stop taking this bacause i should not take this with sertraline. that was 2 weeks ago, i stopped the sertraline & now i feel worse again. felt so much better when i was taking sertraline. now what????
You are feeling withdrawal symptoms of sertraline. You should have stopped it gradually rather than suddenly. If you want to take sertraline, then first start with 50 mg and then again increase it up to 100mg after one week. You can also increase escitalopram 10mg. Rest, you can discuss with your psychiatrist.
Thanks
